How good the product is will depend on how creative and skilled the person who made it is

Unlike microcement floors, which painted with water, stained concrete goes deep into the concrete to create different brightnesses based on aesthetic needs. Microcement staining is the process of moving colors to the right spots on a concrete floor. Most acid dyes are a mix of water, hydrochloric acid, and dissolved metal salts. They work by penetrating the concrete’s surface and reacting chemically with the calcium hydroxide in the concrete.

Microcement that has stained can look like polished marble, tans, natural stone patterns, or even wood tones.

Notes on how to color decorative microcement

  • If we color it as soon as the microcement changes, it will be a darker color. If you mix the dye with water and use it right away, the result will be the same as if you didn’t mix it with water and just let the concrete dry for a few days.
  • When dying, water has a lot to do with the color. If we want to color a patch of concrete right after waiting two days for it to dry, we need to wait the same amount of time to make the other area. When coloring, we have to move the whole area around until we’re done. Try not to do it at the same time as other building tasks. This will keep the product’s quality high and make it easier to clean.
